Welcome to a fresh edition of The Pattern Seekers! 🚀 🥐
If you're like us, you likely have a stack of unread red-dot notifications lurking in your social media feeds.
We are all seeking more meaningful connections and authentic interactions, leading us to intimate communities. As we value privacy, mental well-being, and niche interests, which are often better catered to in smaller, focused communities. Additionally, for me the desire to escape the overwhelming noise and superficiality of mainstream social media has prompted this shift.
How I (try to) escape the noise of mainstream social media: curating my feed by unfollowing irrelevant accounts, taking regular breaks, while exploring smaller, niche platforms for more meaningful connections and a quieter experience.
We’re seeing more and more lively communities on Slack, Membership communities and Discord (I dislike the platform though); in-person and virtual events bringing strangers together to form new friendships; and membership-based businesses that provide access to experts and cultivate high-value connections.
To clarify the term "community," it refers to a collective of individuals who share common interests, objectives, and values, seeking to foster deeper relationships outside formal organizational structures.
By embracing internet communities, I liberate myself from the noise and comparison trap of social media, immersing in spaces where my interests are celebrated, understood, & nurtured.
Here's a list of internet communities I'm loving and hanging out on!
The Gentle Nudge (The G Squad community)
Mission with The Gentle Nudge Community is to present everyone in the world with an option to become an entrepreneur.
Why does it matter?
Entrepreneurship is just a fancy word for recognizing a problem and taking action. What if we unlock 100, 1000, or 1M new entrepreneurs? How fast will we be able to iterate and organize the world a little bit better? ~ Marcin Pogroszewski
Why I love the community ❤️: I hated 9-5 grind ever since I picked up my first corporate job (like it didn’t feel right even in the initial days) & I knew this isn’t something I would want to spend a decade on. This led me to start something I would call my own when I was 19 & ever since then I have been hooked on the fancy title called “Entrepreneur”.
Since then I’ve always felt that entrepreneurship is a profound way to build something of value, And when things are rough, it’s a way to survive. Maybe even thrive. And I think there’s nothing better in the world of doing things that are difficult and challenging with people that you deeply like and you deeply respect.
The aim isn’t just finding work, but pursuing your "life's work.” Today’s young entrepreneurs have been raised with the maxim “do what you love,” and they’re reluctant to settle for anything less. They see work as an extension of who they are and an opportunity to leave a meaningful mark on the world through their talent, creativity and passion.
